Look who came to visit!

Here is my cute grandson, Jackson! (That still sounds really weird to say!) He is 8 months and 3 days old in these pictures. His mom brought him up Saturday afternoon. We went to The Red Express for lunch, came home for a nap and then went to Farmer's Kitchen for dinner. We eat really well as a family! The food at both places was excellent and the company was just as good!! It was really nice to spend some time with Sara and Jackson. It's amazing how quickly he has grown and changed.
Look at those cute fingers and toes!
Bobbie really loves to be the doting Auntie. She fed him, changed him, walked him around and kept him entertained. She would really love to babysit, but we just don't know anybody with babies or small children. She keeps telling me she wants us to "give" her a baby brother. She wants us to adopt a baby. Maybe I should ask her now that Jackson has left and see if she still thinks it would be fun to have a baby around! They were awfully fun to have around! Thanks Sara for the visit!!

My baby turned 12!!

Just look at my BABY! Not so much a baby any more. Her birthday was June 3rd. I haven't been posting, I've been getting ready. She is going to Gallop, New Mexico for the Junior High Wrangler division rodeo finals. She placed 2nd in the state of Washington in Barrels and will compete. She is soooo excited! I am too! I can't wait for us to experience all these new rodeo adventures!! Lots of photos to be taken for sure!!
I can't tell you how much this young lady means to me. Holding back the tears now... but she is my world. She is fun, smart, loving, goofy, outgoing, active and beautiful. When she's not around, I miss her. When she's near, I feel complete. I can't believe that 12 years ago, I gave birth to this wonderful baby girl and now she's this great girl. I am truly blessed that God picked me to be her Momma.

10 Things I'm thankful for today.

o.k., Since I didn't have a very good day today, I decided during one of my tearful moments to list 10 things I was thankful for today...here they are:

1. Bobbie
2. Family
3. Friends
4. A reliable car to drive. (I was in my new-ish car at this moment)
5. Seeing a beautiful, bright rainbow. A cheerful gift from God.
6. Left-over meatloaf for a sandwich for dinner.
7. Sun tea with lots of ice and fresh lemon.
8. Surprise box in the mail from my fabulous twin sister...you know just how to make me happy!
9. School to be almost over with, so I can spend more time with Bobbie and to watch her rodeo.
10. Lunch dates...Thanks Whitney!

What where you thankful for today?? What do you do when you're feeling lousy? I'd love to hear from you!! Your answers just might be the ticket to cheer me up!!

Here's hoping to lots of bright rainbows in your back yard!

It's time to Rodeo again!!

These pictures were taken in Coulee City, Washington. This is one of the Junior High division rodeo's. No, my camera wasn't dirty, it was pouring down rain and those are big huge rain drops in the photos!!
This was taken Saturday morning at Coulee City. As you can see nooooo raindrops! She had a pretty good rodeo that weekend.
Love this one with her and her rope. It was taken at Nespelem, Washington; way up by the Canadian border. She is really starting to get the hang of roping and is doing o.k. with it. I think once we can get her a place to practice, she is going to be pretty good.
This is Bobbie with Jackie. Love how it shows how much fun she has with her horse and her rodeos. I have at least 15 other photos of this nature and can't stop looking at them. They show her joyous spirit!!! I might just have to do some sort of mini album with them!! hummmm, time to go look through the scrapbooking supplies!

Happy Mother's Day!

I had somebody jump on my bed this morning, waking me up with...it's time to open your Mother's Day goodies.
Well, who could turn that down??
So, I stumbled out into the kitchen, made myself a latte and curled up on the couch to open the goods. Bobbie was so excited for me to open her carefully wrapped packages and I was instructed to look in every piece of tissue. So I unraveled a cute little travel tote filled with fun spa type goodies. My gift was a "spa day" done at home by Bobbie. I loved it and Bobbie couldn't wait to get started. We headed back into the bathroom, where she had wheeled in her desk chair and plastic mat. She had towels laid out and all the little goodies that I had opened. There was fingernail polish in lots of different colors, a new top coat of clear polish, because we had ran out, finger nail files, fingernail brush, facial masks in all different flavors, lotion & potions and all with the gift of her performing the favors on me! LOVE IT!
We had more fun giggling and laughing at the facial masks, yes she bought extra to do one to herself! We have beautiful fingers and toes and my skin has never felt better! After getting so glamorous we decided to go to the movies. David was sick today, so it was just us girls.
We went to Wal-mart first to stock up on snacks for the movie and then decided to get some Mc Donalds french fries to kill time before the movie started. We went to see "What Happens in Vegas". Yes, I know it's a PG-13 movie, but I'm sure that Bobbie has heard all of the words and sexual comments before. I would like to think she hasn't, but she's in the 6th grade and I know she knows what all that stuff is about and has heard it before. They would say something during the movie and I would cringe and look her direction and of course I got the look of Mooommmm, don't give me the speech!! We both liked the movie and laughed out loud at times, that Ashton Ketcher is a hottie!! Bobbie would be cringing now that I said that about him! So, I guess we're even!! We came home and did the chores together, and she tried to talk me in to going back to town to see another movie. If she didn't have school tomorrow, we just might have!!
We ended up snuggling on the couch watching "The Devil Wears Prada". She let me tickle her face and play with her hair. I couldn't of asked for a better Mother's day. We even set up the tripod so I could get a picture of the 2 of us. That was the only thing she really wasn't all that into today. Maybe because I take so many pictures already?? I am so blessed to have her in my life, and to call her my daughter. I love who she is becoming and I love her happy spirit. She can almost always make me laugh, even when I'm mad at her and I love to just hang out with her.
I hope my Mom feels the same way about me. I love her and am so blessed to have her in my life. I love who she is and hope I make her happy and that she likes to hang out with me as much as I love spending time with her! She has always been the best Mom ever and I am so lucky to also count her as one of my best friends. So Mom, if you're reading this...
Thanks for being such a wonderful, beautiful Mom.
Thanks for all that you have done for me.
Thanks for the fantastic family you have given me.
Thank you for being my friend.
I love you so much.
Happy Mother's Day!!

Where did March go??

I keep thinking in the back of my mind, you need to blog something...you haven't done that for awhile...So, I finally get ready to blog-and I can't get my pictures off of my camera. This entry will be a quick fix for what happened in March, just minus the pictures. I am hoping to fix this problem tomorrow!
Let's see. We started the month off with our 15 year anniversary. We've done alot in those last 15 years, I wonder what will happen in the next 15? Wow, where does the time go??
I have also been going to Pendleton 3 times a week for physical therapy. My knee seems to be doing better, but it still needs some work. The soreness before the surgery is starting to show up, now that the pain from the surgery is disappearing. Let's just hope all the pain goes away with more physical therapy! I really like my therapist, and it is helping.
I also had to have my yearly "girly" check-up. Which is never fun, but normal. Except this year. I was informed all through-out my appointment that we needed to do more "things" because "you are at that age, ya know." So, I went in for my very first mammogram, and I am happy to report that all things are just fine. I just want to remind everyone, that I will NOT be that age until the end of October. Thank you.
I did get to do a very fun girl weekend in the middle of the month. My Mom, Sister, Sharon, Tiffany and their Mom Lana all got to go to Manzanita beach again. We stayed in the same house as last summer and had a blast! Just us girls hanging out, eating out and enjoying ourselves! We did it, because Tiffany and her family will be moving to Alaska in June. Her husband Jim is in the Coast Guard and is being transferred. We all wanted to have one more girl weekend together before they got busy with packing up a house, finishing up the school year with their 3 kids and everything else it takes to move. The one bright spot in all this, is that they will move back in 2 to 3 years when Jim's time is up. Yippie, we get them back!!
Bobbie is getting ready for her rodeo season to start. Her 1st rodeo is the first weekend in April, and she has been trying to get her horses back into shape. We lost her mare this winter, and she is getting to know the one her "uncle" Glen is letting her use. Jackie (the horse) took his 2 girls through their years of rodeo and is now helping Bobbie get through hers. There is nothing like a good 'ol rodeo horse who knows what they're doing and loves to do it. Jackie is 26 years old and I swear she goes back to being 16 years when she goes through a rodeo gate!!
I have been doing a few craft projects here and there and am ready to get back into being creative and cranking some projects out, but now that it's rodeo season-I will just have to see how much time I get to play. Now that my craft room is pretty much done and clean...a creative clean that is, I will sneak in here every chance I get!
Bobbie had her Spring Break. We didn't go anywhere or do anything. We did however, have one spontaneous night, where we invited ourselves to stay at Sharon's house. Bobbie and I had gone to the Tri-Cities to my Doctor's appointment (knee surgeon) and to do a little shopping. After meeting Sharon for lunch, Bobbie said we should stay the night with her. I told her how it wasn't polite to ask ourselves over, but then I liked the idea and felt kinda bad that we hadn't gotten to do anything fun for Spring Break. So I called and asked her if she wanted company that night, and luckily she wasn't busy and said yes! We finished our shopping and checked out all the clearance racks for pj's and the travel section in Target for a toothbrush and that sort of thing, while we waited for Sharon to get off of work. We took home Panda Express for dinner, watched Celebrity Apprentice and went to bed. Just good times hanging out with a great friend. Thanks for the hospitality Sharon!
Just one more thing to share. I wish I could have a picture of this, but it isn't really picture material. Bobbie stayed home with me yesterday. We hung out, she helped me pick-up the house, shared lunch together, ran some errands, went to physical therapy and did some grocery shopping. Nothing real exciting happened. Lots of giggles, lots of hugs that I can't ever get enough of and just spending a great day together. What topped it all off was later. I had gone to soak in a bubble bath. Bobbie had come in and out of the bathroom a couple times and just as I was getting a little upset and about to tell her to let me have some "quiet" time, she told me to close my eyes. Of course I started thinking of all the stuff she could of gotten into and wondering what kind of mess was waiting for me...when I heard her giggle and she climbed into the tub with me! Now as I think about it, I get all teary eyed, because that has not happened in along time! I am so blessed that she wanted to keep our day going and give us more time together. I'm also blessed that I have a big bath tub, 'cause it was a tight fit! She's growing up right in front of my eyes and I will take every moment she throws my way to spend time with her. Even if it means splashing water all over the carpet in our bathroom, having extra towels to wash, my quiet time taken away...but those moments will last with me for a long time. Thank you Bobbie for being such a great daughter and for turning into such a great friend!!
Well, I think that sums up March and I hope to be adding some fun pictures soon!

Pictures from the weekend.

So here is my baby. We were sitting around (like I can do much of anything else!) and Bobbie was saying she was bored as she flips thru the T.V. channels. She comes across some show with a photo shoot going on, and gives me that look. So, I told her to go get my make up and let me do her all up! She was sooo excited and loved the idea, because she can still not wear it out of the house. I really did her up and she looks fantastic in these photos!! What a beautiful little girl I have and am so lucky that she is just as beautiful on the inside! She wont be going out of the house with makeup on any time soon...it makes her look way to old!

The weather has been so fantastic these last couple of days, that David and Bobbie took advantage of it. Bobbie is lucky to have an Uncle Glenn who is letting her use his old horse Jackie, who will be taking Katie's spot. Bobbie is getting to know her and getting ready for this rodeo season, which will be starting up soon. I was so wanting to be on Skip (the horse David is leading), but had to be happy taking photos. I will be up and riding in no time though!! I can't stand all of this taking it easy crap!! Well, a little time off has been nice!
I love how happy this makes them! The joy shows all over their faces!

O.k., here are some of the projects I have done while I've been down. I got the old sewing machine out and made this really cute purse. The best thing is that Bobbie is making one too! I've been showing her how and will post hers when she is done.
I made these cute boxes for Marla June's store for Valentines day. She was hoping that people would buy them for gift boxes or to put their jewls in! I haven't been up there since the surgery and am hoping they were a big success. Not all have hearts, so we were also thinking with Mother's Day coming up...

Here is my Boo. He looked so cute just soaking up the sun. I just love this big old bear!!

Valentine's day

This is what I opened up for Valentine's Day. Even though we weren't going to do anything for each other this year. Way to busy with everything that was going on in my life to have to think about finding the right gift. So, David gets this for me as a surpise. He said it was to make me feel good, but some how it just made me feel bad, 'cause I was so out of sorts trying to deal with my Grandpa's passing and the up coming knee surgery to be romantic!! Thanks David, for making me feel special on Valentine's day. I promise to learn to make your favorite drink...well, I bet Bobbie can!!!
(Thanks Shey, for giving David the right info on the machine! He told me you helped out!)
I didn't feel so bad the next day when Bobbie figured out how to use the machine. For no formal training that girl's going to give Starbucks a run for it's money!! She whipped this drink up in no time flat and has been bringing me latte's in bed!!
This is my favorite Valentine's gift! When I got home from my Grandpa's service, Whtiney had turned our Christmas tree into a beautiful Valentine's tree!! David had never gotten around to putting the tree back in storage, so Whitney and Bobbie made great heart candy ornaments, put lights on and even had a pink heart feather tree topper!!!
Thank you so much Whitney for the wonderful tree and for taking such great care of my daughter! She is still talking and telling stories of your visit and how much fun she had with you here!

Time to get a little crazy!

Ronda stopped by the house with Landon one day, when Bobbie's friend Dally was over. The girls had been watching America's Next Top Model re-runs and decided to do their hair and make up all crazy like the models had to do and then do a photo shoot.
When Landon saw how much fun the girls were having, he wanted to join in. Landon wanted his hair done, wild and crazy. So after I tried to get his hair to stick up all over, he informed me he wanted a Moowhawk! So we crimped just the center and hair-sprayed the heck out of it and turned the girls loose with the make up.
What a sweet little kissy face!
Here's the real monster!!! How scary!
How does this girl do it? She's got crazy make up and still looks fantastic!

Dally, you totaly rocked this photo shoot! You are gorgous!!!!

Girls just want to have fun!

Best Friends Forever!!!

3 months ago today...

The Jeep I had always wanted was totaled. I was heading home from Hermiston and a lady pulled out infront of me. The air bags went off, and I wasn't hurt that bad. Well, so I thought. David came and picked me up, took me home and then the shock started to wear off. My knees and shins were bruised pretty bad as well as my hips from the seat belt holding me in. I looked like I had been punched in the face from the airbag going off.

I have been to the Doctors on and off trying to figure out what was wrong with my knees. They are still hurting and I am finally starting to go to a physical therapist tomorrow to see if we can make it feel better, so I wont have to have surgury.

Good-bye to my Jeep. I have a new car now. A bigger car. I really enjoy it, but this Jeep will always be my favorite.
