Look who came to visit!

Here is my cute grandson, Jackson! (That still sounds really weird to say!) He is 8 months and 3 days old in these pictures. His mom brought him up Saturday afternoon. We went to The Red Express for lunch, came home for a nap and then went to Farmer's Kitchen for dinner. We eat really well as a family! The food at both places was excellent and the company was just as good!! It was really nice to spend some time with Sara and Jackson. It's amazing how quickly he has grown and changed.
Look at those cute fingers and toes!
Bobbie really loves to be the doting Auntie. She fed him, changed him, walked him around and kept him entertained. She would really love to babysit, but we just don't know anybody with babies or small children. She keeps telling me she wants us to "give" her a baby brother. She wants us to adopt a baby. Maybe I should ask her now that Jackson has left and see if she still thinks it would be fun to have a baby around! They were awfully fun to have around! Thanks Sara for the visit!!

My baby turned 12!!

Just look at my BABY! Not so much a baby any more. Her birthday was June 3rd. I haven't been posting, I've been getting ready. She is going to Gallop, New Mexico for the Junior High Wrangler division rodeo finals. She placed 2nd in the state of Washington in Barrels and will compete. She is soooo excited! I am too! I can't wait for us to experience all these new rodeo adventures!! Lots of photos to be taken for sure!!
I can't tell you how much this young lady means to me. Holding back the tears now... but she is my world. She is fun, smart, loving, goofy, outgoing, active and beautiful. When she's not around, I miss her. When she's near, I feel complete. I can't believe that 12 years ago, I gave birth to this wonderful baby girl and now she's this great girl. I am truly blessed that God picked me to be her Momma.

10 Things I'm thankful for today.

o.k., Since I didn't have a very good day today, I decided during one of my tearful moments to list 10 things I was thankful for today...here they are:

1. Bobbie
2. Family
3. Friends
4. A reliable car to drive. (I was in my new-ish car at this moment)
5. Seeing a beautiful, bright rainbow. A cheerful gift from God.
6. Left-over meatloaf for a sandwich for dinner.
7. Sun tea with lots of ice and fresh lemon.
8. Surprise box in the mail from my fabulous twin sister...you know just how to make me happy!
9. School to be almost over with, so I can spend more time with Bobbie and to watch her rodeo.
10. Lunch dates...Thanks Whitney!

What where you thankful for today?? What do you do when you're feeling lousy? I'd love to hear from you!! Your answers just might be the ticket to cheer me up!!

Here's hoping to lots of bright rainbows in your back yard!

It's time to Rodeo again!!

These pictures were taken in Coulee City, Washington. This is one of the Junior High division rodeo's. No, my camera wasn't dirty, it was pouring down rain and those are big huge rain drops in the photos!!
This was taken Saturday morning at Coulee City. As you can see nooooo raindrops! She had a pretty good rodeo that weekend.
Love this one with her and her rope. It was taken at Nespelem, Washington; way up by the Canadian border. She is really starting to get the hang of roping and is doing o.k. with it. I think once we can get her a place to practice, she is going to be pretty good.
This is Bobbie with Jackie. Love how it shows how much fun she has with her horse and her rodeos. I have at least 15 other photos of this nature and can't stop looking at them. They show her joyous spirit!!! I might just have to do some sort of mini album with them!! hummmm, time to go look through the scrapbooking supplies!

Happy Mother's Day!

I had somebody jump on my bed this morning, waking me up with...it's time to open your Mother's Day goodies.
Well, who could turn that down??
So, I stumbled out into the kitchen, made myself a latte and curled up on the couch to open the goods. Bobbie was so excited for me to open her carefully wrapped packages and I was instructed to look in every piece of tissue. So I unraveled a cute little travel tote filled with fun spa type goodies. My gift was a "spa day" done at home by Bobbie. I loved it and Bobbie couldn't wait to get started. We headed back into the bathroom, where she had wheeled in her desk chair and plastic mat. She had towels laid out and all the little goodies that I had opened. There was fingernail polish in lots of different colors, a new top coat of clear polish, because we had ran out, finger nail files, fingernail brush, facial masks in all different flavors, lotion & potions and all with the gift of her performing the favors on me! LOVE IT!
We had more fun giggling and laughing at the facial masks, yes she bought extra to do one to herself! We have beautiful fingers and toes and my skin has never felt better! After getting so glamorous we decided to go to the movies. David was sick today, so it was just us girls.
We went to Wal-mart first to stock up on snacks for the movie and then decided to get some Mc Donalds french fries to kill time before the movie started. We went to see "What Happens in Vegas". Yes, I know it's a PG-13 movie, but I'm sure that Bobbie has heard all of the words and sexual comments before. I would like to think she hasn't, but she's in the 6th grade and I know she knows what all that stuff is about and has heard it before. They would say something during the movie and I would cringe and look her direction and of course I got the look of Mooommmm, don't give me the speech!! We both liked the movie and laughed out loud at times, that Ashton Ketcher is a hottie!! Bobbie would be cringing now that I said that about him! So, I guess we're even!! We came home and did the chores together, and she tried to talk me in to going back to town to see another movie. If she didn't have school tomorrow, we just might have!!
We ended up snuggling on the couch watching "The Devil Wears Prada". She let me tickle her face and play with her hair. I couldn't of asked for a better Mother's day. We even set up the tripod so I could get a picture of the 2 of us. That was the only thing she really wasn't all that into today. Maybe because I take so many pictures already?? I am so blessed to have her in my life, and to call her my daughter. I love who she is becoming and I love her happy spirit. She can almost always make me laugh, even when I'm mad at her and I love to just hang out with her.
I hope my Mom feels the same way about me. I love her and am so blessed to have her in my life. I love who she is and hope I make her happy and that she likes to hang out with me as much as I love spending time with her! She has always been the best Mom ever and I am so lucky to also count her as one of my best friends. So Mom, if you're reading this...
Thanks for being such a wonderful, beautiful Mom.
Thanks for all that you have done for me.
Thanks for the fantastic family you have given me.
Thank you for being my friend.
I love you so much.
Happy Mother's Day!!
